A Cadet Firefighter (also known as a Junior Firefighter in some areas) is a member of the Windsor Fire Departments youth program. This program is made up of up to 10 members, who may act as a reserve firefighting force for large scale or long duration incidents, as well as filling in as support staff back at the fire stations.
The Windsor Fire Department Cadets program has been up and running since November 2008. It started out with three Cadet Firefighters, and now is up to six members.
The main goals of the program are the promotion of the fire service in local youth, who may seek to further their involvement, either in the career sector or as a future volunteer firefighter in their home communities, wherever they may eventually be.

- Parental or guardian consent is required to join the program
